Keys to Getting Top Tier Contract Work

Have you seen the video going around social media, where the guy asks the small business owner "why aren't you famous yet" and their response to the question was "because you didn't share my work yet"?
If you've been in business for more than one month, you've already figured out that sharing your posts on social media doesn't guarantee that you will make one sale.
Especially, if your goal is to become a sought-after top tier highly respected and profitable small business owner...a few random shares from your friends won't do it. Gold and Platinum brand businesses come into existence once your ideal customers start interceding and demanding that owners similar to them start working with you.
Here's what needs to be taking place for you to take the
next step as a small business owner.
You need people who've experienced you saying...
If you don't work with (insert your name) you're a fool.
I don't see this project being successful if you don't include (insert your name)
The only way I'm working on this project is if you include (insert your name)
It's like my favorite CEO Cory Elliot says, "It's not who you know, its who knows you and what you're known for that takes you beyond just successful as a business owner."
Don't get me wrong, shares are nice. However, they don't add to your bottom-line the way a strongly worded endorsement from your ideal customer to someone who should already be your customer.
Business is a credibility and trust game. Nothing says trust more than someone who's experienced your work telling customers with similar needs to their own that you are the solution their problems.
How do you get your ideal customer to intercede on your behalf?
Who is your ideal customer. Two of ideal customers are a 1000x better than 100 headaches that don't help you expand your business or improve your brand.
Properly identifying problems. What problems you are best at solving for your ideal customers.
Intake, onboarding and review. The worst thing you can do is wait until the project is over to get your feedback. 1) get clear objectives, 2) set a timeline you can exceed, 3) start getting feedback weeks into the project.
And finally, don't be afraid to ask what it would take for introductions and recommendations...then do exactly what they said you should do.
