Bad reviews, nasty posts, comments, and negative videos can kill your business. Especially if you don't have a plan in place. The best way to stop negative reviews is to stop them before they start.
The objective of this article is to get you long-term, repeat business and to help expand your business with organic referrals.
Here are some proven ways to stop bad reviews before they start.
Get feedback early.
Get ongoing feedback.
Get immediate follow up feedback.
Now let's breakdown why each form of feedback is so important.
1) Get early feedback. This is the key to getting paid. Why? It allows you to address the small complaints before your buyer starts trashing you to people who should be your next client.
2) Get ongoing feedback. Neither success nor failure should be a surprise. And just because it started well doesn't mean it's going well. Just do a quick check in to make sure you client is still comfortable with the process and progress.
3) Get immediate feedback. Once the job is done, do these two things. Go over everything to make sure all their objectives are met. Then set up your follow up conversations. You should have a "how's it going call" for a couple weeks out and a "is it still going well call" for a couple of months out.
Is this too much contact? If it is, you've done something wrong. If you've truly improved their lives and or business, why wouldn't they want to hear from you? Your goal is to keep your customers from saying something negative to anyone other than you. Social media vents and bad press happen when your clients feel like you're not accessible or that you're not willing to listen.
